Kaum Cina di Malysia bukan PENDATANG - PM Najib Razak

Lokasi : Setia City Convention Center, Shah Alam, Selangor

Acara : Persidangan Perwakilan Nasional ke-44, Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia

Tarikh : 18/10/2015

Quotes

1. "Today Gerakan would like to stress that to step on the face of the PM Najib is wrong, to step on the picture of Hadi Awang is wrong  to call Cina Babi is also wrong to go to Petaling Street and cause riot is also wrong. All these are wrong. Two wrong don't make one.  I urge, you know some people said "Dia buat saya juga buat" No I think its wrong. Doesn't mean that its @#* follow that is why we should stop with sincere heart , we should stop the nonsence of calling each other (names)"
... Mah Siew Keong

2. "Cantik sungguh pemandangan
Dinikmati oleh semua manusia
Walaupun dilanda beribu rintangan
Hidup mati ku di bumi Malaysia"
....Mah Siew Keong

3. "Kalau ada kenyataan oleh individu we will deal with it...and I think we should deal with it.. whether in terms of law enforcement ataupun dari segi disiplin dalam party. Tapi kita harap juga pihak yang satu lagi itu... jangan pula terlalu biadap, because for every action there will be a reaction. Remember the law of physics. The same law in politics, every action there will be a reaction...becos if you insult the leaders of this country they will be a reaction from those who believes in the leadership of this country. The best thing do is not insult the leadership of this country.."
....Najib Razak

4. "We are the only South East Asian country, or the only country outside China and Taiwan to allow for Chinese education in this country. You can complain, but you don't have Chinese Education in Singapore, you don't have Chinese education in Thailand, you don't have Chinese education in Indonesia but in Malaysia under UMNO and BN you have Chinese education. And it was during my tenure as Minister of Education that the only instrument to change the nature of Chinese education has been repealed by the government. So Chinese education is here to stay, Chinese schools are here to stay...but you all must work toward national condition and national unity..."
....Najib Razak

5. "As far as I am concerned Malaysian Chinese have contributed to the development of Malaysia. To the growth of Malaysia, spectacular growth of Malaysia. You played your part...and that is why you are not PENDATANG. You are the sons of Malaysia...you were born here you grew up here... and when the times come when yo die you will be buried here...or your ashes will be scattered somewhere in Malaysia"
....Najib Razak

Mah Siew Keong, Presiden GERAKAN.

Women in Politics - Promoting Representation Through Connectivity & Innovation

Lokasi : Dewan Merdeka, PWTC, KL

Acara : Perasmian Asean Conference - Women in Politics

Tarikh : 17/10/2015

Companies Compelled To Include Gender Index In Annual Report - Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- The Securities Commission has launched a new initiative compelling companies to include gender index in their annual report to monitor gender diversity in their organisations.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the initiative was part of the country's policy to raise the number of women in decision-making positions in public and private sectors, to 30 per cent by next year.

"By next year, we will know the composition of women of each company board members, managerial (level) and employees," he said in his speech at the opening of the Asean Conference on Women in Politics (Asean WIP KL2015) here, today.

He said, to boost the country's efforts in formulating policies and legislation specific to women, the government had also established a Women's Advisory and Consultative Council.

"The council will act as a think tank, monitoring and appraising the efficiency and effectiveness of government policies and programmes related to women and will play an important role in line with our National Policy on Women and the Plan of Action for the Advancement of Women.

"These initiatives followed the inclusion of 'Upholding the Role of Women' as one of the main strategies in our last budget - which outlined plans to improve access to the job market for all women," he said.

Najib also stressed that Malaysia had a proud tradition of giving rise to strong women.

"It is this tradition that we hope to strengthen for the future, increasing the number of empowered female leaders we have in our midst today, and ensuring that all women - across our region - have the same opportunities to succeed tomorrow," he said.

He added, women had an equal, indeed a crucial, role to play in matters of politics, governance and leadership.

"We must challenge and overcome the social conventions that say a woman's role is only in the household. Both genders, men and women, must understand that these are shared responsibilities and men must share in them.

"Only then, having changed this mind-set, can women go beyond, and become true equals in the workplace," he said.

Meanwhile, on the ASEAN WIP KL2015, Najib said this conference helped, as it aimed to create a political network for ASEAN women involved in politics and, by extension, encouraged greater participation of women in decision making positions and in the electoral processes.

"This is only the beginning of what I hope will be a growing trend of cooperation and sharing amongst the ASEAN nations today.

"We must encourage and support the exchange of ideas across our borders, and then create an environment where those ideas can be implemented. Let us learn from one another and, in doing so, strengthen ourselves and each other," he said.

He said Malaysia was proud to support this channel and platform where women leaders could share their opinions and ideas towards further female representation in politics.

Najib said he looked forward to establishing a secretariat for Women in Politics in Kuala Lumpur to ensure that this dialogue and cooperation became an annual occurrence.

The ASEAN WIP KL2015 is the international conference organised by Wanita Barisan National (BN), concerning women in politics, being held for the first time, with over 121 delegations from 24 political parties around the region in attendance.
